Oakland, CA – The Oakland Athletics placed pitcher Jordan Norberto on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 31, with a strained left shoulder Monday.
Norberto has appeared in 21 games out of the bullpen for the Athletics this season, pitching to an 0-1 record with a 3.91 ERA and one save.
To fill the roster spot, Oakland recalled pitcher Sean Doolittle from Triple-A Sacramento.
Doolittle, who will make his major league debut, has posted a 0.72 earned run average in 16 relief appearances between Single-A Stockton, Double-A Midland and Sacramento this year.
