The Baltimore Orioles announced on Saturday that they have acquired outfielder/first baseman Steve Pearce from the New York Yankees for cash considerations.

Pearce hasn't appeared in the majors yet this year, but was batting .321 with 11 home runs and 30 RBI over 52 games at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre.

Over five seasons with Pittsburgh, the 29-year-old played in 185 games and batted .232 with nine homers and 52 RBI.

To make room on the roster for Pearce, the Orioles designated infielder/outfielder Bill Hall for assignment. An 11-year veteran, he has batted .222 with one homer in seven games.
