The Cleveland Indians activated pitcher Josh Tomlin from the 15-day disabled list in time to start Monday's game against the visiting Kansas City Royals at Progressive Field.

Tomlin hasn't pitched since May 7 due to right wrist soreness. Prior to the DL stint, he went 1-2 with a 4.67 earned run average over five starts and a relief appearance.

The Indians also placed infielder Jack Hannahan on the 15-day DL with a strained left calf, recalled infielder Lonnie Chisenhall from Triple-A Columbus and designated pitcher Jairo Asencio for assignment.

Hannahan is batting .276 over 31 games this season with three homers and 18 runs batted in.

Chisenhall made his major league debut last year with Cleveland, hitting .255 with seven homers and 13 doubles in 66 games.
