The Chicago Cubs placed catcher Welington Castillo on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday and recalled pitcher Travis Wood from Triple-A Iowa.

Castillo suffered an MCL sprain in his right knee in a game against the Chicago White Sox on May 18 that forced him to leave early. The DL stint is retroactive to May 19.

Castillo is hitting .185 and has four RBI in seven games this season.

Wood rejoins the Cubs for the second time this season. In his only appearance, he went six innings and allowed three runs in a start against the Dodgers on May 6.
