Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves has put himself back in contention for Indy's fifth pole.

The Brazilian topped Saturday morning's speed charts with a fast lap of 227.774 mph. It was the best speed this week.

Ana Beatriz, another Brazilian, was second in the final practice session before qualifying begins. She went 226.187, a mark that continued to show any of the five Andretti Autosport drivers could be in the mix for the pole.

Castroneves' teammate, Ryan Briscoe, was third at 226.027.

Three drivers did not make it onto the track -- Americans Marco Andretti and Ryan Hunter-Reay, who are both ranked in this week's top five, and France's Jean Alesi, who says he feels "unsafe" in a far slower car powered by the struggling Lotus engines.
