The Minnesota Twins have placed pitcher Nick Blackburn on the 15-day disabled list because of a left quad strain and decided to keep catcher Ryan Doumit on the 25-man roster.

Doumit is suffering from a right calf strain and the Twins had announced after Wednesday's game against Detroit that he would be placed on the DL. After receiving favorable medical results, the Twins instead kept him active.

Blackburn left Wednesday's start against the Tigers after two innings. He was tagged for six runs on six hits before exiting, but did not factor into the decision of Minnesota's 11-7 win.

The right-hander is 1-4 with a lofty 8.37 earned run average in seven starts this season.

As announced earlier, outfielder Ben Revere will take the vacant roster spot. Revere, recalled from Triple-A Rochester, started the season with the Twins and hit .278 in six games. He was batting .330 in the minors at the time of his promotion.
