The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled pitcher Evan Meek from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.

The 2010 All-Star reliever began the season with the Pirates, but struggled and his ERA sat at 5.59 after nine appearances. He was placed on the disabled list on April 30 with right shoulder tendinitis.

Meek registered a 5-4 mark with a 2.14 ERA and four saves in 2010, while recording a 1-1 record with a 3.48 ERA in 2011.

To make room for Meek on the roster, Pittsburgh optioned outfielder Alex Presley to Indy. The 26-year-old has hit .220 with two home runs and seven RBI in 34 games for the Pirates this year.
