The Chicago White Sox activated right-handed pitcher Jesse Crain from the 15-day disabled list prior to Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers.

Crain was returning from a rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte after the club placed the 30-year-old on the DL with a strained left oblique in late April.

Over six games this season, Crain accrued a 2.57 earned run average with 10 strikeouts in seven innings.

To make room for Crain on the roster, Chicago designated left-hander Eric Stults for assignment. Stults made one start for the White Sox and received a no-decision after yielding two runs over six innings in the second game of a doubleheader on May 7 at Cleveland.
