Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters re-ruptured his surgically repaired Achilles tendon after a rolling walker he was using malfunctioned, according to a report.

Peters needed a second surgery after his Roll-A-Bout broke and he fell on his face in his kitchen, Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia reported.

The Eagles confirmed that Peters re-ruptured the Achilles.

The CSN report said Peters, who was originally hurt in March and had surgery in early April, planned to sue the manufacturer of the device.

It said his recovery was set back three weeks, leaving his availability for the upcoming season in further jeopardy.

Peters, a five-time Pro Bowl pick, has started 42 games at left tackle for the Eagles over the past three seasons since coming over from the Bills in an April 2009 trade.
