Inter Milan defender Walter Samuel has brought an end to speculation over his future by signing a new contract with the club that ties him to the Nerazzurri until 2013.

Samuel's previous deal was set to expire at the end of the season, but his new contract runs through the end of the next campaign with Inter having the option of extending it another 12 months.

The 34-year-old has been a key member in the Inter squad since joining from Real Madrid in 2005, and has made 34 appearances for the club this term.

Inter also announced that second-choice goalkeeper Luca Castellazzi has inked a two-year contract that keeps him with the club until 2014.
