Pittsburgh, PA – The Pittsburgh Penguins announced that defenseman Zbynek Michalek underwent successful hip surgery on Wednesday.
Michalek had the procedure done by Dr. J.W. Byrd and is expected to recover by the beginning of training camp.
The 29-year-old logged 13 points in 62 games in the regular season and one point over six postseason contests this season.
