The Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to terms with backup quarterback Byron Leftwich on a one-year contract Thursday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Leftwich missed all of 2011 after breaking his left arm in the preseason. During his nine-year career, he has spent three seasons as a member of Steelers (2008, 2010-11), throwing for 345 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in six games.

Selected seventh overall by the Jaguars in 2003, Leftwich has appeared in 55 games -- 49 starts -- and thrown for 10,260 yards and 58 touchdowns.

Last week, the Steelers signed longtime backup quarterback Charlie Batch to a one-year deal.
