Blue Jays place Santos on DL

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed closer Sergio Santos on the 15-day disabled list because of right shoulder inflammation.

Santos, who spent time on the paternity list earlier this month, has a record of 0-1 with a 9.00 earned run average and two saves in six games. He notched a save on Friday against the Royals in his last appearance.

The Blue Jays recalled pitcher Evan Crawford from Double-A New Hampshire to fill the roster spot. Crawford was also brought up earlier this month and appeared in two games, allowing one hit in two innings.
