Three days after Cliff Lee tossed 10 shutout innings against the San Francisco Giants, the Philadelphia Phillies placed him on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain.

Lee, who became the first Phillies pitcher to go 10 frames since Terry Mullholland in 1993, suffered the injury while throwing a pitch during the 10th inning of Philadelphia's 1-0 loss to the Giants on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old left-hander is 0-1 with a 1.96 ERA this season.

Right-hander Kyle Kendrick will start in Lee's place on Monday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Philadelphia recalled left-hander Joe Savery from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take Lee's spot on the roster.
