Brewers SS Alex Gonzalez put on paternity list

Atlanta, GA – The Milwaukee Brewers have placed shortstop Alex Gonzalez on the paternity list as he traveled to Florida to be with his expecting wife, Johanna.

Gonzalez, who was to miss the final two contests of a weekend series against the Braves, was expected to return for Tuesday's home contest against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

With Gonzalez away, the Brewers recalled infielder Eric Farris from Triple-A Nashville Saturday. Farris has played in one game in his major league career, and that came last July 28 when Rickie Weeks was on the disabled list.
