Bologna, Italy – Alessandro Diamanti scored the lone goal as Bologna edged Cagliari, 1-0, on Thursday at the Stadio Renato Della'Ara to go six points clear of the relegation zone in Serie A.
Diamanti scored in the 54th minute as Bologna climbed to 12th in the standings and level on points for a place in the top half with six matches remaining. It was winless in its last four matches.
Cagliari lost for the second time in its last four matches, and sits just four points above the relegation zone in 14th place.
