Gordon Hayward netted a season-high 29 points as the Utah Jazz got a much-needed 103-91 win over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.

Paul Millsap filled the stat sheet with 21 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals and Derrick Favors had a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards off the bench for the Jazz, who have won two in a row and three of four.

Utah moved in a half-game in front of Phoenix, which lost to Memphis, for ninth place in the Western Conference. Denver, which owns the eighth and final playoff spot, was playing later Wednesday.

Goran Dragic paced the Rockets with 19 points and Kyle Lowry contributed 15 in defeat. Houston saw a four-game winning streak snapped and fell into a tie with idle Dallas for sixth in the West.
