The Cincinnati Bengals have terminated the contract of safety Chris Crocker.

The team has not ruled out re-signing the 32-year-old veteran, who now becomes a free agent.

Crocker spent the past 3 1/2 seasons with the Bengals and was one of the defensive captains. He started all 16 games for Cincinnati last season, compiling 61 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks.

The Marshall product missed nearly half of the 2010 season with a torn ACL. He has also played for Cleveland, Atlanta and Miami since entering the league in 2003 and owns 10 career interceptions with 13 sacks.
