The Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee suspended Houston Dynamo midfielder Adam Moffat one game and also fined him an undisclosed amount Friday for a reckless challenge last weekend.

Moffat committed the challenge in the first half of a 2-0 loss against Seattle Sounders FC. Moffat made contact with Seattle midfielder Osvaldo Alonso on his lower leg, just below his knee. He was shown a yellow card for the tackle. MLS determined Moffat endangered the safety of his opponent.

Sounders midfielder Alvaro Fernandez was also fined an undisclosed amount for embellishment of contact in the closing minutes of the match.
