Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby left the ice bloody, but on his feet, after he was hit in the face by a puck Thursday night against the Islanders.

Crosby was hit under the visor when Islanders defenseman Dylan Reese attempted to flip the puck out of the New York zone early in the second period.

The Penguins captain remained down for a moment, then skated off with a towel over his face. He returned later in the period, only missing around nine minutes.

Crosby, of course, has missed much of this season because of concussion-like symptoms and a neck injury.
