Arnold Palmer, and officials from the PGA Tour and PNC Bank, announced on Saturday that the Father-Son Challenge, off the golf schedule since 2008, will return in December.

The event will feature a field of 18 professionals, who either won a major championship or a Players Championship, paired with some member of their family.

The name of the tournament indicates most play with their sons, but Palmer has played in years past with his grandson, and Fuzzy Zoeller teed it up with his daughter.

The championship will be played Dec. 15-16 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. It is an unofficial event.

PNC signed a "multi-year deal" to sponsor the event and the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Children will be the beneficiaries.
