Georgia Southern announced on Friday its 2013 football schedule, which includes six home games.

The Eagles will enter the 2012 season off a Southern Conference championship and its second straight appearance in the FCS semifinals.

In 2013, GSU will kick off the season at home on Aug. 31 against Savannah State. In addition, the Eagles will play home games against Saint Francis, Pa. (Sept. 7), Chattanooga (Sept. 28), The Citadel (Oct. 12), Furman (Nov. 2) and Western Carolina (Nov. 9).

Their road games will be against Wofford (Sept. 14), Samford (Oct. 5), Appalachian State (Oct. 26), Elon (Nov. 16) and Florida (Nov. 23).

The NCAA allows for 12 games in 2013 and GSU could add another game at a later date.

GSU had announced its 2012 schedule nearly one year ago. The home portion of it includes the Eagles' first games against Jacksonville (Sept. 1) and Howard (Nov. 10). The other home games are within the SoCon against Elon (Sept. 22), Samford (Sept. 29), Wofford (Oct. 13) and Appalachian State (Nov. 3).

The Eagles' road games within the SoCon will be against The Citadel (Sept. 8), Western Carolina (Oct. 6), Furman (Oct. 20) and Chattanooga (Oct. 27). They also will head to Athens, Ga., for a Nov. 17 finale against Georgia.
