Cejas nets hat trick as Pachuca tops Atlante

Mexico City, Mexico – Mauro Cejas scored three times to lead 2 win over Atlante, giving the club its fourth victory of the Clausura season.

Cejas got going early as he netted two goals in the first seven minutes before Atlante pulled one back through Juan Cuevas prior to halftime.

Jorge Guagua leveled the contest in the opening minutes of the second half, but then received his marching orders with 35 minutes still remaining, leaving Atlante to finish the match with 10 men.

The visitors held out until the 89th minute when Cejas completed his hat trick to hand his side all three points.

Santos continued its good form by securing a 1-0 win at Cruz Azul after reaching the final of the CONCACAF Champions League in midweek.

Carlos Quintero tallied the only goal of the game for the visitors, who finished the match with nine men.

Queretaro remains on the bottom of the league after a 0-0 draw with Guadalajara, Jaguares coasted to a 3-0 triumph over Atlas behind two goals from Jackson Martinez and Tigres held on for a 1-0 win at home against Tijuana after Lucas Lobos scored from the penalty spot in the opening 10 minutes.

On Friday, Morelia collected another win after taking a 2-0 lead inside of 25 minutes behind two goals from Edgar Lugo and holding on for a 2-1 win against U.A.G. after Rodrigo Ruiz missed a penalty kick that would have leveled the match in the 62nd minute.

Sunday's action saw San Luis claim a 1-0 win at Puebla after Wilmer Aguirre scored from the penalty spot with 20 minutes to play, Monterrey grabbed a 1-1 draw against Toluca on a 78th-minute goal from Neri Cardozo and America snatched a late win at home over UNAM as Vicente Vuoso scored five minutes from time.
