Toronto FC announced Tuesday that it has signed defender Logan Emory after a successful trial with the club. Per league and club policies, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Logan is a strong young defender and he has many qualities we like to see in a player," said Toronto FC Head Coach and Technical Director Aron Winter. "We were impressed with his work ethic during his trial period in Orlando and I felt he performed well against Vancouver in our final preseason match.

"Logan gives us another option in defense and fits in well with our team's style of play."

Emory, 24, played at the University of Portland before turning pro with the Puerto Rico Islanders of the USSF Division 2 Professional League in 2010. He left the Islanders at the conclusion of the 2011 season and was on trial with Toronto during the club's preseason trip to Orlando, FL.
