The San Diego Chargers and veteran center year deal Tuesday.

The 30-year-old Hardwick has played all eight of his NFL seasons for the Chargers.

Since entering the league as a third-round draft pick in 2004, Hardwick has played at least 12 games in all but one season. He has started each of the 103 games he has appeared in, including all 16 the past two seasons.

The Chargers also released tackle Marcus McNeill, who started 82 games for them since 2006.

They released cornerback Dante Hughes, who had a career-high 42 tackles last season, and waived linebackers Everette Brown and Nate Triplett and wide receiver Bryan Walters.
