Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel has lost defensive coordinator Josh Conklin to the University of Tennessee football program.
Tennessee coach Derek Dooley announced Friday that Conklin has been hired as the Vols' safeties coach.
Conklin has spent the last two seasons at The Citadel, where he coached the safeties in addition to being the defensive coordinator. Last season, the Bulldogs allowed 23.4 points and 343.8 yards a game to rank second and third, respectively, in the Southern Conference.
He also has coached at Wofford and South Dakota State.
