The Anaheim Ducks signed defenseman Francois year contract extension Friday.

Through 45 games for the Ducks this season, Beauchemin has six goals and 12 assists with a plus-1 rating while averaging almost 26 minutes on the ice.

This is the 31-year-old Quebec native's second career stint with Anaheim. He was also a member of the Ducks from 2006-09, winning the Stanley Cup in 2007.

"Francois is a dedicated, versatile and hard-working defenseman who is committed to our organization," said Ducks executive vice president and general manager Bob Murray. "We are extremely pleased to have him under contract for the next three years."

In 454 career games with Montreal, Columbus, Anaheim and Toronto, Beauchemin has 37 goals, 151 points and a minus-24 rating.

He also has eight goals and 12 assists in 61 career playoff games.
