Sunrise, FL – The Florida Panthers announced that defenseman Ed Jovanovski will undergo hand surgery.
The procedure will take place later on Wednesday at Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables.
The 35-year-old, who signed a four-year deal to return to Florida in the offseason, suffered a broken hand during a fight with Bruins forward Daniel Paille on Monday.
He left the game after the bout and didn't return in Boston's 3-2 shootout win.
Over 43 games, he has two goals and six assists.
