The Senators will be well-represented when Ottawa hosts the Star Game at the end of the month.
The Flyers' Claude Giroux figures to be there as well.
Ottawa looks to stretch its win streak to five straight games this afternoon and pick up a victory in Philadelphia against a Flyers club that is looking to put its disappointing Winter Classic loss further in the rearview in an opener of a home-and-home.
The Senators knocked off the Lightning 4-1 on Thursday on the same day they learned that Daniel Alfredsson, Jason Spezza, Milan Michalek and Erik Karlsson were all named to the Jan. 29 All-Star Game via the fan balloting.
Alfredsson then went out and logged a goal and two assists and Spezza scored against Tampa Bay to give his club a 7-1-1 mark in its past nine games. Ottawa's current four-game win streak is its second-longest behind only a six- game run from Oct. 20-30.
Craig Anderson made 35 saves, Kyle Turris logged his first goal with the Sens since being acquired from Phoenix on Dec. 17 and Zack Smith also found the back of the net.
"I don't think we played great tonight, especially in the second period, but our [defense] does a great job of keeping it to the outside," said Alfredsson. "Tonight, [Anderson] played unbelievable. He allowed us a chance to come back and get our legs in the third."
The Flyers got their legs going late on Thursday, three days after blowing a two-goal lead against the Rangers in the Winter Classic. Philadelphia again saw an advantage disappear as Chicago scored twice in a 25-second span during the third period to tie the game, but James van Riemsdyk tallied a power-play goal with 32.8 ticks left in regulation to give Philadelphia a 5-4 win.
It was van Riemsdyk's second goal of the game after scoring just once in 11 games last month.
"It's exciting to contribute," van Riemsdyk said. "Some bounces haven't necessarily gone my way most of the year, but it feels good to contribute and help the team win."
Giroux picked up his second assist of the game on van Riemsdyk's second tally, putting him in a tie with Henrik Sedin for the league lead with 48 points. He has 19 points in his past 11 games.
Scott Hartnell, Jakub Voracek and Harry Zolnierczyk also scored for the Flyers, won for just the second time in six games and are six points behind the New York Rangers for the lead in the conference. Hartnell has three goals and seven assists over a six-game point streak.
Ilya Bryzgalov made 30 saves in the win, his first since December 13.
Philadelphia played without Jaromir Jagr after he suffered a groin injury in the Winter Classic. He is not expected to return for today's game, while defenseman Kimmo Timonen will also likely sit out this afternoon due to an upper-body injury.
The Flyers snapped a two-game slide to the Senators with a 7-2 win at Ottawa on Oct. 18. Rookie Matt Read had a four-point game and Giroux finished with a goal and an assist.
Spezza and Karlsson scored for the Senators, who have lost two straight and six of their last eight in Philadelphia and will host the Flyers at home on Sunday.
