Spurs assign Neal to rehab assignment

San Antonio, TX – The San Antonio Spurs have assigned guard Gary Neal to the Austin Toros of the NBDL for a medical rehab assignment.

Neal underwent an appendectomy on December 12, 2011.

Neal averaged 9.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in 80 games as a rookie for the Spurs last season. He led all rookies in three-point field goal percentage (41.9) and earned a spot on the 2011 All-Rookie First Team.
