Maria Sharapova pulled out of the Brisbane International on Tuesday due to a collarbone injury.

The world No. 2 was scheduled to play a second-round match against Jarmila Gajdosova on Wednesday, but told officials that she would not be able to play due to the right collarbone problem.

She also withdrew from a exhibition match against Carolina Wozniacki last month in Seoul, South Korea and her status for the upcoming Australian Open, the first major of the year, is unknown.

It's the second straight year she has pulled out of this event, but last year she was able to play in the Australian Open.
