The Orlando Magic re-signed swingman Jason Richardson on Monday.

"Jason (Richardson) is a tremendous competitor who is great in the open floor and can drain the three-point shot," said Magic general manager Otis Smith. "We are very happy to have him back in a Magic uniform."

Orlando acquired Richardson from Phoenix as part of a six-player trade on December 18, 2010. In 80 combined games -- all starts -- last season, he averaged 15.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 39.5 percent from three-point range.

Originally the fifth player taken in the 2001 NBA Draft, Richardson has averaged 18 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 751 career games with Golden State, Charlotte, Phoenix and the Magic.
