The New York Islanders activated goaltender Evgeni Nabokov off injured reserve on Monday.

In eight games for the Islanders this season, Nabokov has not lived up to expectations, posting just a 1-5-0 record with a 2.83 goals-against average.

Nabokov hasn't played since October 17 due to a groin injury.

To make room on the roster, forward Micheal Haley was sent down to Bridgeport of the American Hockey League.
