The New York Mets continued to bolster their handed reliever Frank Francisco to a year contract. The deal is still pending a physical, but is believed to be worth $12 million.

Earlier in the night the Mets came to terms with righty reliever Jon Rauch, Francisco's teammate in Toronto last year. The plan is to have Francisco close with Rauch setting him up, similar to the situation the Blue Jays employed a year ago.

Francisco appeared in 54 games for the Blue Jays last season and was 1-4 with 17 saves and a 3.55 ERA. His best year came in 2009 with the Texas Rangers when he saved 25 games.

The Mets also completed a deal with the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday, acquiring right-hander Ramon Ramirez and outfielder Andres Torres in exchange for outfielder Angel Pagan.
