The Cleveland Indians have signed catcher Matt Pagnozzi to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Pagnozzi spent most of the 2011 season with Colorado's Triple-A affiliate in Colorado Springs and batted .275 with three homers and 29 runs batted in over 54 games. He also appeared in seven games for the Rockies and was claimed by Pittsburgh on waivers in September and played five games for the Pirates, batting .276 in a combined 29 big league at-bats.

The 29-year-old nephew of former Gold Glove winner Tom Pagnozzi spent most of his career in the St. Louis organization. He has appeared in 33 major league games and has batted .310 in 71 at-bats.
