London, England – Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has been charged with improper conduct after comments he made about referee Chris Foy following a defeat to QPR in October.
Chelsea conceded a penalty kick and had two players sent off in the first half of a 1-0 loss, with Villas-Boas saying afterward that Foy had "directly influenced the result" and "committed tremendous mistakes."
Villas-Boas also admitted that he confronted Foy following the match.
An FA statement read: "Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has been charged with improper conduct by the FA, following media comments he made about the match official after his side's match at Queens Park Rangers on October 23, 2011.
"Villas-Boas has until November 15, 2011 to respond to the charge."
Chelsea has already accepted a charge of failing to control its players during the game and has been fined $30,000, while Villas-Boas is facing the possibility of further punishment.
