Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 20 points and Zack Novak added 14 to lead No. 18 Michigan to a 47-39 exhibition victory over Wayne State on Friday night.

Hardaway fueled a cold-shooting Wolverines offense, scoring 15 points in the second half. Michigan won despite shooting only 37.3 percent from the field, including 5 of 24 from 3-point range.

Perimeter shooting has been a staple of coach John Beilein's system, but the Wolverines shot only 35.2 percent from 3-point range last season.

Hardaway's 3-pointer with just under seven minutes remaining pushed Michigan's lead to 43-31 after Wayne State managed to keep the deficit under 10 points for much of the second half.

Ike Udanoh led Division II Wayne State with 13 points.
