Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen and Chicago Bears return specialist Devin Hester have been chosen as the NFC's top players for the month of October.

Rodgers grabbed the offensive award for a third consecutive month (December 2010, September 2011, October 2011). He led the Packers to a 4-0 record, completing 97-of-136 passes for 1,455 yards with 12 touchdowns and two interceptions. Rodgers led the NFL with a 129.4 passer rating.

Only Pro Football Hall of Famer Barry Sanders had previously been chosen as offensive player of the month for three straight months.

Allen nabbed the defensive honor by recording an NFL-best eight sacks, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and 20 tackles. It is the eighth-year player's second career monthly award.

Hester rounded out the monthly winners by taking home the special teams award for the third time in his career. He was the only player in the league to return both a punt and a kickoff for a touchdown during October. Hester's 11 career punt return touchdowns moved him past Eric Metcalf (10) for the most in NFL history.
