The Minnesota Vikings released wide receiver Bernard Berrian on Tuesday.

Berrian had seven receptions for 91 yards in five games this season, and was inactive twice in the past three weeks.

The 30-year-old Fresno State product spent four seasons in Minnesota. He had his best year with the Vikings in 2008 when he caught 48 balls for 964 yards and seven touchdowns in 13 games played.

To fill Berrian's spot on the roster, the Vikings activated wide receiver Stephen Burton from the practice squad. They also released defensive lineman Cedric McKinley from the practice squad.
