The Winnipeg Jets on Sunday returned forward Mark Scheifele to Barrie of the Ontario Hockey League.

Scheifele, who was selected by the former Thrashers franchise with the seventh overall pick in this past June's draft, totaled one goal -- on October 19 at Toronto -- in Winnipeg's first seven games.

The 18-year-old earned a spot on the roster after appearing in five preseason games and leading the team in scoring with eight points, having posted four goals with four assists.

A native of Kitchener, Ontario, the right-handed shooter recorded 22 goals and 53 assists for 75 points in 66 games for Barrie last season. He led all OHL rookies in assists.
