Chattanooga, TN – The playing status of Chattanooga quarterback B.J. Coleman remains uncertain as he attempts to return from a sprained right throwing shoulder.
Chattanooga has listed Coleman as its starter for Saturday's Southern Conference game at Elon. But the 6-foot-5, 220-pound fifth-year senior was held out of practice on Tuesday and hasn't played in a game since Oct. 8.
Coleman was injured that day in the second quarter against Georgia Southern. He was replaced by redshirt freshman Terrell Robinson, who has gone on to win the past two SoCon freshman of the week awards.
Robinson would start against Elon if Coleman remains sidelined.
Coleman is a nominee for the Walter Payton Award (sponsored by Fathead.com), which honors the outstanding player in the FCS.
The Mocs have a 3-4 record, including 1-3 in the SoCon.
