Hurricanes hold off Bruins for first win

Raleigh, NC – Anthony Stewart and Jiri Tlusty both scored period goals, as the Carolina Hurricanes downed the Boston Bruins, 3-2, to earn their first win of the season.

Joni Pitkanen added a goal for the Hurricanes, who got 26 saves from Cam Ward.

Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand both scored a goal for the Bruins, who saw Tim Thomas stop 31 shots.
