Midland, TX – Jake Younan-Wise shot a seven-under 65 on Friday to vault into a share of the lead after two rounds of the WNB Golf Classic.
Younan-Wise and first-round leader B.J. Staten (68) are tied atop the leaderboard at Midland Country Club after finishing 36 holes at 13-under 131. Neither Younan-Wise nor Staten have won on the Nationwide Tour previously.
Younan-Wise had a flawless round on Friday with an eagle and five birdies, while Staten grinded to a five-birdie, one-bogey effort after an opening 63 on Thursday.
Miguel Angel Carballo, who lost in a playoff at last week's Soboba Golf Classic, is alone in third at 11-under 133. He shot a six-under 66 on Friday.
Tim Wilkinson (66) and Cliff Kresge (66) share fourth at 10-under 134.
