Pistons center Ben Wallace has been charged with unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon and drunken driving, according to a release from the Bloomfield Township Police Department.

The release said police pulled Wallace over for erratic driving around 3:00 a.m. on September 24. A roadside investigation revealed Wallace was operating his 2007 Cadillac Escalade while intoxicated, and he was arrested without incident for OWI.

Additionally, an unloaded pistol was found in a backpack during a search of the vehicle.

Back at the police station, the 37-year-old Wallace registered 0.14 percent on a breath test for blood-alcohol content, the release said. The legal limit in Michigan is 0.08.

The weapons charge is a five-year felony, while the OWI charge is a 93-day misdemeanor.

Wallace was arraigned in front of Magistrate Judith Holtz, given a $5,000 bond and was released to a family member. He is set to appear in court October 3.
