Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun has been chosen as the National League Player of the month for September.

Braun tied for second in the NL with eight home runs and 22 runs batted in, while hitting an impressive .330. The California native compiled a .620 slugging percentage and finished in the top 10 in both total hits and runs scored.

The 27-year-old became just the second player in franchise history to record at least 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases in one season, finishing with 33 homers and 33 steals. He also ranked second in batting average (.332) and runs scored (109) and finished fourth in the league with 111 RBI.

This is the fourth career award for Braun, who took home the honor in July of 2007 and '08, along with a win for this past April.

Other players receiving votes were Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder, San Francisco third baseman Pablo Sandoval, Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp, Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols, and Giants outfielder Carlos Beltran.
