The New York Jets have promoted cornerback Isaiah Trufant from the practice squad to the active roster and waived wide receiver Mardy Gilyard.

Trufant appeared in one regular-season game last year for the Jets and had a pair of special teams tackles. He was signed to the practice squad earlier this week after being released by Philadelphia in August.

Gilyard joined the Jets less than a week ago after being waived by St. Louis. The University of Cincinnati product appeared in 11 games last year for the Rams, starting two, and caught six passes for 63 yards.
