Less than two months after being fired as the U.S. national soccer coach Bob Bradley is reportedly in the running to become the coach for the Santos Laguna Mexican club team.
The team fired Argentine Diego Cocca over the weekend and said in a statement that it had spoken to Bradley, and other candidates will be interviewed.
Bradley led the U.S. to the round of 16 at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. He was dismissed in July after the U.S. lost 4-2 to Mexico in the final of the Gold Cup, the regional championship for North and Central America and the Caribbean. Bradley was replaced by former Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann.
"Bob Bradley is one of the candidates to be the coach," the club said in a statement.
Santos Laguna, based in Torreon, was in the news last month when gunmen opened fire outside the club's stadium, forcing a match to be suspended. No one was reported injured.
Torreon has recently been the scene of fighting between the powerful Sinaloa and Zetas drug cartels.
