Chicago Bears running back Marion Barber sat out Wednesday's practice with a calf injury.

Signed by the Bears in the offseason, he suffered the injury in a preseason game at Tennessee on August 27 and hasn't practiced since.

Selected by Dallas in the fourth round of the 2005 draft, Barber carried the ball 1,042 times for 4,358 yards and 47 touchdowns over 88 career games with the Cowboys over the previous six seasons.

Defensive end Corey Wootton (knee), defensive tackle Anthony Adams (calf) and wide receiver Sam Hurd (ankle) were all limited in practice.

Chicago opens its season on Sunday at home against Atlanta.
