The Colorado Rockies acquired pitcher Drew Pomeranz from the Indians on Wednesday to complete the trade that sent pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez to Cleveland.

The Indians had previously sent infielder Matt McBride and pitchers Alex White and Joe Gardner to the Rockies on July 31 for Jimenez. It had widely been reported that Pomeranz was the player to be named later in the deal, but the 21-year-old lefty couldn't be dealt until a full year after he signed with Cleveland.

Pomeranz was selected by the Indians with the fifth overall pick of the 2010 draft and this season was a Single-A Carolina League All-Star at Kinston before a promotion to Double-A Akron.

In 18 combined starts this season, Pomeranz is 3-3 with a 1.98 earned run average. He has 112 strikeouts and just 38 walks in 91 innings.

The Rockies have assigned the University of Mississippi product to Double-A Tulsa.
