Paul Heffernan scored a pair of goals 1 win over Hibernian, handing Killie boss Kenny Shiels his first win as manager of the club.

Heffernan got the scoring started quickly as he got on the other end of a cross from Rory McKeown to head the ball past goalkeeper Graham Stack from 12 yards,

However, the visitors were level 10 minutes later when Lewis Stevenson intercepted a poor pass in the Kilmarnock defensive third and found Garry O'Connor, who did well to lift his shot over the head of goalkeeper Cameron Bell and into the net.

The lead was restored just before the break when a low cross from James Dayton forced Hibernian defender Paul Hanlon to slide in and knock the ball over his own goal line.

Dayton then extended the advantage with a fine free kick from 25 yards that he curled over the wall and into the upper corner of the goal.

The victory was sealed 20 minutes from time when Danny Buijs sent a cross to the near post for Heffernan, who volleyed it home.
